I am happiest when my life has purpose. I am not just talking about having to wake up and walk the dog and go to my job. I am talking about a purpose driven life of accomplishing goals that benefit growth. If I am not creating a life of meaningful experiences, I most certainly will be bored.
Life should be a journey of growth, change and figuring out our passions and talents. When we pay attention to our interests and talents, we can create a life of abundance around them. I have always known that I am a creative person that seeks to express myself through designing spaces. I have a constant need to evaluate my life and make sure that I am on the path to accomplishing my goals. This is great, but it can also be exhausting. I just recently came to understand my "personality type" as an INFP. I used a couple different tests to figure it out, but the one that I found most profound was this 16 personalities test. I highly recommend the test. It was scarily accurate and had a full personality type summary at the end of the test. The summary covers your strengths/weaknesses and even talks about the different careers that would be best suited for you.
Since I have figured out my personality type as INFP I have come to understand the reasoning behind why my brain works the way it does. I am able to hone in on my strengths and understand how I can work on my faults. I have since joined social media groups of fellow INFP Personality types and have gained so much knowledge and understanding.
Seeking out your personality type is just one way you can begin to lead a purpose driven life. I understand that many people surround themselves with priorities and responsibility that creates a purposeful life, but I don't think that is always the best thing to do. I feel that you should truly figure yourself out and understand what makes you tick and what makes you passionate, what makes you THRIVE. You can simply live and go through the motions of your daily routine or you can truly do some soul searching. Figuring out why I react to certain happenings in life and how I am portraying myself in a social setting has been eye opening. As an introvert, I am constantly in my head. As an "INFP" in particular, I have learned that I can come off as aloof and uninterested. I have used this to better myself and make a conscious effort to make my interest known when I am within a group setting. This is just one example of what I have been working on. Part of my personality type is always trying to guide people to better there lives ( hence me writing this post on leading a purpose driven life). I hope that if anyone is wondering where they will be in the future, I say, create it. Make it happen. Understand that you can literally do anything you put your mind to, so long as your are passionate about it. There has to be a drive behind that goal, that's the only way to have a successful outcome. Passion is powerful. . Being passionate about a goal is what will make the process much easier, because you are doing it with an inner drive that is solid.
"INFPs are highly intuitive about people. They rely heavily on their intuitions to guide them, and use their discoveries to constantly search for value in life. They are on a continuous mission to find the truth and meaning underlying things. Every encounter and every piece of knowledge gained gets sifted through the INFP's value system, and is evaluated to see if it has any potential to help the INFP define or refine their own path in life."- Portrait of an INFP (The Personality Page)
Find your talents- better them and make them meaningful for your happiness, as well as others.
Create A positive Environment for Change- Take life by the horns and create change and interest in your life.
Understand your "weaknesses/faults"- working on them will keep your grounded and in tune with reality. Making an effort to better yourself will only better your life and the people in it. Being brutally honest with yourself can be life changing.
I hope this has sparked some interest within you! Remember that life is beautiful and the journey is what its all about. If you are not evolving and changing, you are missing out on the beautiful process. Seeking understanding of your purpose will create beautiful abundance in your life!
